I am a wife to a man I love dearly and the mother of a little girl that makes our life sparkle, sometimes quite literally with glitter.
From 2010 to 2015 I was a full-time wedding photographer and I loved capturing the engagements and weddings of so many amazing brides and grooms. These days from 9 to 5 you'll find me in the Mothership, aka the Showit offices in Gilbert, Arizona. At Showit, we build technology that enhances creativity. Our drag-and-drop website designer is designed for photographers and creatives and it let's our users, who we lovingly refer to as Showiteers, build awesome, interactive and truly responsive websites without needing to know a single line of code. This site (the one you're on) was built with Showit. To find out more visit our website at showit.co and try Showit out for yourself. But don't blame me if you stay up late designing something awesome... I'm not joking, it's addicting, especially if you're a 24/7 creative like me.
the energy of New York City, the cobble stone streets of Europe and the sun-kissed beaches of Hawaii; but the mountains, valleys, lakes and rivers of the Pacific Northwest whisper and tug at my soul, feel the most like home, and will always be my favorite destination.
I love quiet moments and cozy evenings at home with my family. I love stripes and polka dots, soft sweaters and Fossil watches. I keep buying shirts in blue, but my favorite color is Oregon green. I love red wine, cider beer, Downton Abbey, When Calls the Heart (I'm a Heartie), and Netflix. I own all seven seasons of The Golden Girls and watch them to fall asleep at night. I love our church, Central Christian Arizona and listening to the Cageless Birds station on Pandora. It seems I hardly ever use my phone for talking but instead for Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook. I love to see family and friends face-to-face, but relish Skype calls in between real life hugs.
a cheerleader at the University of Oregon, GO DUCKS! and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism & Communication.
My first job in the journalism world was at KTVK Channel 3 in Phoenix in the Marketing department. I later worked as the Parts Producer on the reality television show NASCAR Angels, produced by MagicDust Television before leaving to pursue my own small business in website/graphic design and eventually wedding photography.
a mix of classic and modern; a little of then and a bit of now. My heart sings for the things that last like large leather albums and small silver frames but I adore digital downloads and Netflix. I love vintage design and modern technology; all things Apple, Nike, Nikon, Banana Republic and Pottery Barn. I love printed books I can dog-ear the pages of and digital ones I can swipe through. Black and white movies are my favorite and black and white photographs whisper to my soul. If words of inspiration, faith and knowledge were a cereal I would eat them every morning with my cup of Twinings English Breakfast tea.
that we are made for more than just doing what makes us happy. I believe in living a life that glorifies God and blesses others. I believe in spreading joy everywhere I go and I strive to leave people and places better than I found them. As a family we are rooted by our faith in Christ, guided by God's Word and driven to share the truth of His love. We're not perfect and life can be messy, but His blessings are bountiful and my soul and my voice can't help but sing His praises.
As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.
- Joshua 24:15
As the Ambassador of Joy for Showit (yes, that's my actual title... and yes, I made it up myself), I have the pleasure of planning special events and experiences for our users, being part of our marketing team at Showit, working closely with our industry partners and our Showiteer community and co-hosting our weekly webcast for, Showit Live.
I began using Showit the first year of my photography business and I can say without a doubt (and not just because I work there) that it was the best business decision I ever made as a professional wedding photographer. Showit's not just a website company, it's a positive and encouraging community of photographers and creatives. And we all need a place to belong, a place to be encouraged and a community of creatives to call friends.
While I'm no longer a wedding photographer... I'll always be a creative, and a Showiteer for life.
